Mrs. Lazy Pants.....

That's my new name folks. It seems as if I can't seem to get my act together. I keep forgetting things and I just plain don't feel like doing anything. Can you believe that I TOTALLY forgot that today was Jacob's snack day at School. I feel like a complete ass. I guess in the end it's not really a big deal, but it is REALLY bothering me.

ALL I feel like doing is watching TV. It seems as if I am never able to watch shows when they actually come on, so my tivo has LOTS of new stuff!!! Lipstick Jungle was AWESOME!!! John and I are LOVING Fringe. Great Great show!! Grey's and ER come on tonight. I am going to be sad to see ER go. I cannot believe this is the last season :(

It's as if everyday I wake with something special to look forward to in my free time!!! (Which is getting to be fewer and far between) Oh....Heroes was REALLY good too!! Too many shows to talk about. I LITERALLY cannot wait for LOST to come back though. It kinda sucks that they make us wait so long. I feel like I need to go back and re-watch last season.

I hope you all are enjoying having old and new shows to look forward to each week!! We've gotta veg out sometimes, right?!?!

TOTALLY Blindsided

Johnny was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes this week. I (John & I) feel as if we have been hit my a mack truck....to say the least.....and YES...we DO know that it could be worse, but this is a HUGE blow and a HUGE lifestyle change.

We just spent the last three days at Fairfax Children's Hospital. Johnny has been a very brave boy throughout all of this. I couldn't be more proud of him. I won't even go into detail on how many times he has been pricked and poked. It has been brutal. Our hope is that he will get more comfortable with the unpleasant parts of this with each passing day. Kids do seem to be pretty resilient that way!

I do have to say though, I have been the most worried about giving him shots everyday but in actuality the hardest part is the HUGE change in his diet. All I'm going to say is.....He's STARVING. Hopefully his body will start to adjust and he won't feel the amount of hunger he is now.

All of the Nurses, Doctors and Specialists at FCH were great! John and I learned SO much about the disease and feel pretty confident in all that lies ahead!

I just want to Thank everyone for all of your kind wishes, phone calls and emails. I promise we are not ignoring anyone. We are just trying to get into this new routine....it has been quite a bit more hectic than it was in the hospital.

Onto some better news....Jacob started preschool on Thursday!!! He was SUPER excited to go!! His teacher said he did great and that he went on the potty two times!! It is hysterical seeing all of the little two years olds with their HUGE back packs on walking down that hall!!! I think he is going to have a WONDERFUL year!!

The time has come...*Updated*Again!!

I am off with the boys today to meet their teachers. It's all very sad and exciting!...who am I kidding???? I am SCARED OUT OF MY MIND.

I know every child goes to school....Hell, even I did...Hee Hee, but it is scary none the less. I know Jacob is going to be just FINE, but I am SO worried for John. He is starting "Big" school tomorrow. Even as I write this I feel like bawling. My heart is tight and just plain hurts. Please tell me some of you feel the same way. I feel like such a dork. I "know" that he is going to be fine and probably love school, but as an adult and someone who has gone through the whole school experience I can't help but be worried about EVERY little thing. Will he like and get along with his teacher? Will he listen to his teacher? Will he make new friends? Is he going to be scared and confused? Is he going to feel safe and secure without anyone he knows? Is he ready for this? etc. etc. etc.

Gosh...I am going to miss him.

One teacher down.....We met Jacob's teacher Mrs. McGeachy this morning. I REALLY liked her! TOTALLY different than what I was expecting......in a good way!!! I think (Know) that Jacob is going to have a wonderful time there this year!! Phew!!!

Be back later with news on Johnny's Teacher!!

Johnny's teacher seems GREAT!!! She is very sweet and super friendly!!! Johnny was completely at ease......Like he has been there with all of those people for ever!!! It was amazing! I truly couldn't have asked for anything more!!! I think he LOVED the school bus ride the best though. He said it was AWESOME!!! I just wish I could have been there to see him get on and off :( I'm sure I won't be saying that tomorrow though! I think he is going to have a great year with a great teacher, learning TONS of new and exciting things and making some great new friends!!! I feel so much better after today. It really helps seeing the place your children are going to be and meeting the people who will be with them! An even "Bigger" PHEW!!
